Job Description

As a Cloud Solutions Architect for the State & Local public sector industry, you will be instrumental in delivering cloud solutions on the Google Cloud platform that align with our client’s desired outcomes, industry best practices, Unisys cloud portfolio offerings, and emerging innovative technologies. As a key member of the client delivery team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, architecting, and presenting business and technical solutions that meet client needs and support their cloud journeys and digital transformations. You will be part of a high-performance team of delivery professionals working together to design and deliver cutting-edge cloud migration, modernization, and management solutions. You will participate in the full software development cycle, collaborating closely with enterprise architects, cloud engineering teams, innovation teams, and other stakeholders. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-native solutions, migrating workloads to the cloud, and maintaining cloud workloads that meet governmental technological and business requirements. Your duties will include optimizing cloud costs, implementing security best practices, providing technical expertise and thought leadership, and proposing right-sized solutions for various agencies. Continuous learning about new technologies and advising clients on their adoption for value realization will be essential. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deliver scalable, fault-tolerant, secure, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform. Leverage automation to create repeatable patterns and solutions. Understand client business goals and align them with effective solutions. Identify unrecognized business value opportunities through curiosity and a focus on client value. Design solutions based on the well-architected framework. Provide thought leadership on cost-effective cloud solutions. Collaborate with client stakeholders to gather requirements for migrations and cloud-native solutions. Other Responsibilities: Architect and design cloud solutions aligned with business and technical requirements. Develop scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures. Evaluate and select appropriate cloud technologies and tools. Design data integrations between cloud and on-premises systems. Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards. Cloud Security and Compliance: Develop and present cloud security strategies and policies. Ensure solutions comply with industry regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA. Stay updated on security threats and implement necessary security measures. Cloud Integration and Migration: Assess client environments and develop migration and transformation strategies. Plan and present seamless platform and architecture integrations. Collaboration and Communication: Work with client and internal teams, providing technical guidance and leadership. Communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders. Facilitate workshops and knowledge sharing on cloud technologies. Build and maintain relationships with cloud providers and vendors. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and certifications. 10+ years designing, developing, and delivering solutions for state and local clients. Strong familiarity with Google, AWS, Azure, and other cloud vendors. Hands-on experience with core cloud services across providers, preferably AWS or Azure. Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, Shell, etc. 7+ years experience with IaC tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with DevOps tools and containerization technologies. Knowledge of disaster recovery, network technologies, and cloud migration strategies. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams. Preferred Skills: Master’s degree in related fields. Experience with AI/ML solutions. Certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, PMP, SAFe Agile, GCP Cloud Architect.
