Role Overview:

 

Sodexo’s Campus Dining Segment is seeking a skilled and passionate  Executive Chef 3to lead culinary operations at  East Texas A&M University in  Commerce, Texas . This is a high-impact role overseeing all dining facets—from daily resident meals to signature, high-profile catered events—on a vibrant and growing campus.

Incentives: Relocation assistance is offered for this role. What You'll Do:

 

  • Direct culinary operations across  resident dining, retail food outlets, and catering , managing chefs, purchasing, and catering leaders.

  • Collaborate with university stakeholders to create  customized and innovative culinary experiences .

  • Ensure excellence in  food quality, safety, sanitation , and visual presentation.

  • Oversee  purchasing, cost controls, inventory systems , and vendor partnerships.

  • Partner with the Catering Executive Chef to deliver memorable catering services.

  • Develop your team through  training, ACF certifications , and foundational culinary skill building.

  • Drive sustainability, wellness initiatives, and culinary innovation in alignment with Sodexo’s standards.

What You Bring:

 

  • Experience leading culinary teams in  campus dining, healthcare, government, or high-volume hospitality environments.

  • Comfortable overseeing  multiple venues , including dining hall, a multi-station food court, and large-scale catering.

  • Leadership style that is  collaborative, calm, and hands-on , with a strong focus on mentoring (approx. 5% active cooking).

  • Strong business acumen with a proven ability to  manage food budgets and control food and labor costs .

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 3 years

Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
